G Ramu is currently Associate Professor in Pharmacognosy, Al Shifa College of Pharmacy, Kerala with a total teaching & research experience of 18 years and has presented 30 scientific papers receiving 20 prizes, published 40 research papers of repute and served as an organizing secretary & resource person for 15 scientific events in various National and International Conferences, authored 9 books & book chapters with ISBN, guided 7 PG Projects and 10 UG Projects which garnered 70 presentations with 20 prizes and a number of publications for students in various reputed journals. He has received Young Achiever Award 2019, Best Researcher Award 2023 and Young Pharmacy Teacher Award 2024 for the recognition of vital achievements in academic and research during Annual Convention & Conferences organized by APP in addition to many other awards at college level.

He has successfully completed a couple of small projects in college education (SSP/VG/SPICE) which is grouped under category C by the Project Advisory Committee (PAC) constituted by Vision Group of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka in addition to a number of seed grants at college level. His chief areas of research concern the Pharmacobotanical studies of herbals and authentication of potential medicinal plants at molecular level. He has rendered a number of community services as Programme Officer for YRC and NSS activities. He is a member in APP (APP/TN/LM – 023/15), APTI (KA/LM-1143), TSPC (9705 A1) and InSc (20227YRA150).
